Emily Bahnson

All work is handmade and wheel thrown on an electric potters wheel. I use porcelain B-6 clay from Minnesota Clay and mid-fire glazes are fired to Cone 6 and handmade. Some of the pieces have a pop of gold luster hand painted on them while others have the Bubble Method of glazing which leaves a marbling effect. I use decals of crane birds on my pottery in order to raise awareness about the Japanese Internment Camps during World War II and present day racism towards Asian Americans.
