Often times I collage pages from my favorite old dictionary, junkmail or other books and maps into the backgrounds of my paintings, which add depth and texture. I also sculpt and paint clay pieces to add to the paintings. I typically create an underpainting in acrylic. Then I paint many layers and glazes with oil paint to bring the pieces to their finished state.
