Kate Qualley Peterson

I work in powdered metallurgy. It is powdered metal, water and cellulose. The metal has all the initial properties of clay and is handled as such. Once dry it is kiln fired according to the metal. My technique requires multiple firings to finish and achieve the colorful patina that I am known for.

I prefer to work in base metals at this time. My material lends itself to an organic feel in my design. I like to repeat shapes and textures as I move from one design collection to another carrying.
