The pottery I create starts wheel thrown, mid-fire red and white stoneware with earthy glazes pulling from nature’s inspiration. Sculptural clay elements are added or/and carvings pulled from the clay, some with hints of human form.
My work is heavily influenced by nature, translating the roughened or burnished textures, variegated color and raw clay appearance into many pieces. I find myself constantly awestruck by the visual interplay of color, texture, pattern and nature form.
