Naomi Hart

I am an encaustic artist, working in hot wax medium mixed with a variety of other media. I mount intentionally rusted fabrics, intaglio prints and colored pencil drawings as a foundation for multiple materials embedded within layers of beeswax. I embed additional drawings on rice paper, hand drawn stencils and geometric patterns, text and powdered pigments into the layers of wax. Each layer of wax can be manipulated through tinting, incising and the addition of drawing media.
