Sheila Bayle
My jewelry is created with seed beads, gemstones, art glass, and precious & base metals. With a needle, thread and varied stitches, my work is woven one bead at time. Colors are influenced by nature; shapes by textile traditions. Unique to my work is the use of tiny, antique beads.
Beadweaving is more than 5,000 years old, yet new techniques and bead shapes are created constantly. New stitches provide challenges to learn and grow, and new bead shapes provide ways to adapt this ancient art.
