Sheila Bayle

Using glass seed beads and thread, I create jewelry and small sculptures that include semi-precious gemstones, pearls, art glass, precious metal beads, and found materials like wood or stone. Most work is woven using a single needle and thread but I also crochet and knit, weave on bead looms, and use wire-wrapping to add surface textures. Characteristic of my work is the use of tiny, antique seed beads that allow me to create intense detail and surface interest, along with the colors influenced.
