Hand turned wooden items. Start with a log from a down tree. Look for character pieces; burls, crotches, knots, but some are straight grain. Slab off natural edge (NE)platters or cut log in half for bowls. NE bowl-bark side up or smooth edge bowl-cut side up. Rough cut on bandsaw. Mount on lathe turn outside shape. Reverse to turn inside. Sand and apply finish. Variety of woods. NE bowls, smooth edge bowls, vases, platters, hollow forms, pepper mills, ornaments, artsy & functional.
